Cartooning

In this class you will create your own short comic, while learning about visual storytelling, character development, and how to capture that dynamic action pose. Students will also work together like real comic book creative teams.
Each session will offer new projects for returning students.
Kent Archer is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC, with a degree in cartooning. He studied under comic greats Klaus Janson, David Mazzucheli and Wilt Simpson. Kent's work has been published by Image Comics and he is the inker for the webcomic "The Adventures of Dr. McNinja".

Drawing & Painting: Skills for Preschool & Kindergarden Ages 3-6 YEARS

Fee: $60 m/ $70 nm
Children will learn basic drawing skills that will remain with them as they grow. Showing them that they can make creative decisions and use good judgment regarding their work is great for self esteem and confidence. Max. of 12.

During this week, students will take a look at the history old animation, stretching all the way back to ancient Rome! Then we'll dive in and explore several kinds of animated filmmaking, including claymation, paper cutouts, pixilation, hand-drawn animation and more....
