Perhaps no other artistic medium has been affected by the technological revolution as much as photography.
35 mm, enlargers and chemistry have been joined by
Digital SLRs, high tech printers and Photoshop(C).
With so many ways to alter images
does the initial shoot - 'snap' of the photographer -
remain the most critical part of photography?
From pure photography to altered digital and video, images of our world captured like never before.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all photographic processes, themes and photographers. Video installations also accepted.
You must be a NRAS member or become a member at drop off to participate.
The entry fee is $10. One entry per artist.
Photographs must be framed and wired for hanging (clip-on frames are NOT acceptable.)
40" maximum horizontal dimension including frame.
Any entry that is determined to substantially copy another's work will be disqualified.
Submission of work done during the course of a class or workshop is not allowed.
Works deemed unsuitable will not be hung.
You may not submit work that has been shown in past NRAS exhibitions.
Awards
Ribbons will be awarded for First, Second and Third place on the night of the opening. These awards will be chosen by popular vote.
Dates
Drop off: March 25 9am-12pm and 7pm-9pm
Opening: March 28 7pm-10pm Free admission for exhibiting photographers. Guests and all others $10 donation at door. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Cash bar. First, second and third prize winners will be chosen by popular vote on the night of the opening.
Show Runs: March 28 - April 13
Pick-Up: April 13, 4pm to 5pm and April 14, 6pm to 8 pm
