North River Arts Society is proud to present "Surf and Sandy Turf" an exhibit by Jeanie Rest at the Horan Gallery at Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield. Jeanie is an incredibly talented artists, working in pastels to create stunning landscape scenes.
Please note there is no opening reception for this exhibit.
MJ (Jeanie) Rest's journey into the world of art began later in life, proving that it's never too late to discover a new passion. At the age of 55, Jeanie took a pastel class from Donna Rossetti Bailey, and through her mentoring and teaching of techniques, she became addicted. What started as a hobby, quickly grew into a full-fledged artistic endeavor, leading her to create vivid pastel works that capture the essence of her everyday environment. Jeanie's unique style is characterized by her ability to evoke the movement and serenity of water, sand and shadows. Her pastel pieces often feature coastal landscapes, tranquil seascapes, and vibrant beach scenes that invite viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. Each piece is a testament to her meticulous attention to detail and her deep appreciation for the natural world.
Since embarking on this artistic path, Jeanie has received numerous awards and she has sold over 100 pieces across the United States and in Canada. Her art has been featured in several galleries and art shows, drawing acclaim for its vivid colors and emotive landscapes.
In "Surf and Sandy Turf," Jeanie hopes her viewers will immerse themselves in our natural world of color, light and textures and find them as inspirational she does.
