A Creative
Tradition

Now in its 49th year, the North River Arts Society Festival of the Arts is a Memorial Day weekend celebration featuring fine art, sculpture, photography, artisan vendors, live music, performances, children’s activities, local food, and the giant puppet parade.

A weekend of creativity for the whole community.

We’re kicking off our 49th Annual Festival of the Arts in style with Booty Vortex on Friday, May 22!

Enjoy catering by H COLE Club, get a sneak peek of our Juried National Exhibit, and check out some seriously good raffle items you won’t want to miss. Plus, we’re introducing a brand new festival highlight: the Festival Feature Paint Around.

This live painting event brings together five local artists who will rotate canvases every 10 minutes, creating one-of-a-kind collaborative pieces. Finished works will be auctioned off throughout the festival.

Awards at 7PM!

"Beach Time" Page Railsback

Congratulations to Page Railsback, our 49th Annual Festival Poster Artist! Read more about Page and her background below.

Where are you from/what is your background and how does that affect your work?

I am from Longmeadow MA. I grew up in a big, crazy, unruly family. There was always a lot of music and my parents were a little bohemian. I went to school and received a masters in spec education. I think making art is my way of finding equanimity in the midst of chaos.

What motivates you to create?

Painting, designing a room, cooking, gardening, listening to good music energizes my spirit . All forms of creativity make life a beautiful thing.

How did you get involved at NRAS?

After the birth of my daughter , I found  a class with Carolyn Harvey at her house. That was my introduction to making art and the North River Arts Society. The NRAS was and is a great community for all artists . It gave  me my wings and I am still flying.

How do you define success as an artist?

Success as an artist for me is hanging out by myself with no time restriction and feeling the joy when the flow takes over and the painting starts to reveal itself. It’s not always pretty but can feel very rewarding.

Now you can purchase raffle tickets for Page's original artwork BEFORE Festival! Help support our fundraiser at the link below:
