Artist Statement While I took these photos, I wanted to send a message. which was to never forget who you are, because it can be so hard to stay true to yourself in high school. Don't let people put a label on you. You need to find who you want to beYou are dealing with so much stress, social pressure to be normal, but you just want to be you. No one will just let you be you; they always give you a hard time. You were meant to shine, not be hidden. So embrace the weird. I wanted to show how I, as a teen, felt in high school, and that you are not alone. I used lighting, color, and what is in focus to change the viewer's perception and how they feel, making them feel a change in their mood. My process is I want to bring awareness of what a teen is going through with color to show emotion, and what we are going through. I wanted to show my emotions and story through high school through photos. The message I wanted to send was, don't be shy and try to fit in, be brave and stand out. Art is one way I let my creative mind go wild. Art allows me to express myself and show who I am. teen deal with so much during high school, and my goal with my portfolio is to show you are not only yes what you are going with hard things, but it is to so that other people are also dealing with similar things. Don't listen to people when they say you are too much and you are being a lot because you are just perfect. You never need to change yourself for other people. don't forget high school does not last forever, so don't take anyone's say that too deeply. |
